Note: There was also a king of Hungary named Imre (Emeric), who ruled from 1196 to 1204.

Prince St. Imre, also Henricus, Emeric, Emerick, Emmerich, Emericus or Americus (Székesfehérvár, 1007Veszprém, September 2 1031) was the son of King St. Stephen I of Hungary. He was educated by the bishop St. Gerhard (St. Gellért) from the age of 15 to 23. He was intended to be the next monarch of Hungary, and his father wrote admonitions to prepare him for this task, but he was killed at a young age by a boar while hunting. For his pious life and purity, he was canonized in 1083 along with his father and Bishop Gerhard.

Amerigo Vespucci was named after Saint Emeric, and therefore so were the Americas, indirectly.
